Snd to wav?

SND and WAV are two different audio file formats. SND is an older audio format that was commonly used on Mac computers, while WAV is a more popular and widely-used format on both Mac and Windows systems. If you have an audio file in SND format and want to convert it to WAV, you can use a conversion tool or software.

Here are the steps to convert an SND file to WAV using the freeware software, Audacity:

  • Download and install Audacity on your computer if you haven't already.

  • Launch Audacity, and click on the "File" menu in the top left corner.

  • Select "Import" from the dropdown menu, and then choose "Raw Data".

  • In the "Import Raw Data" window that appears, make sure the "Signed 16 bit PCM" option is selected, and then click "Import".

  • In the next window that appears, set the "Channel" to "Mono" or "Stereo", depending on your file.

  • In the "Sample Rate" section, enter the appropriate value. You can check the sample rate of the original file to ensure you enter the correct value.

  • Click "Import", and the SND file will be loaded into Audacity.

  • Click on the "File" menu again and select "Export Audio".

  • In the "Save As" window, choose the location where you want to save the WAV file, and then give it a name.

  • Under "Format", select "WAV (Microsoft) signed 16 bit PCM", and then click "Save".

  • In the next window that appears, choose the appropriate options for metadata and other settings, if necessary.

  • Click "OK" to start the conversion process, and the SND file will be converted to WAV and saved to the location you specified.

Once the conversion is complete, you should have a WAV file that you can use or play on any device or software that supports the format.
